MindClick Featured in Marriott’s 2014 Annual Sustainability Report

As Marriott continues to identify ways that help minimize their global environmental footprint, they’ve taken on the challenge of addressing sustainability beyond the four walls of their hotels. In 2012, Marriott committed to spend 75 percent of its 2013 furniture, fixtures and equipment budget for the Americas with suppliers who are part of the MindClick Hospitality Index for Sustainable Sourcing (HSP Index). By year-end 2013, we had reached that goal and are exploring the expansion of the Index to the Operating Supplies and Equipment supply chain.

While Marriott’s focus was improving the sustainability of the products they purchase, as well as protecting the health and well-being of the people and communities that produce those products, it turns out that their guests were quick to express their appreciation for such actions. Guest surveys showed 1.5 times the intent to return and two times the intent to refer the property to others among those aware of the sustainability efforts.

As Marriott enhances their strategy over the next few years, MindClick will continue to provide the data and guidance to help drive impactful results throughout Marriott’s global supply chain.
